As we are true spa engineers we embrace the challenge of building and installing that special requirement that you may be looking for as individual as you.
Every Exercise Pool and Hot Tub is designed for In-Ground or Sunken use with only minor modifications. If you have the space and are willing to have excavation work undertaken, an In-Ground installation offers several benefits compared to portable or above ground installations.
You can really integrate your Hot Tub or Exercise Pool into your landscape design and an In Ground installation certainly offers more stability. Whether you choose above ground/portable or in-ground/sunken installations, all our Spas and Hot Tubs are designed using the same powerful pumps and hardwearing acrylic covered by the same outstanding warranty. A wide variety of different colours and sizes means you can personalise and landscape your Hot Tub to be as unique as you are.
It is of great importance to take note that our exercise pools and hot tubs, like all the spas we sell, have the equipment mounted under the spa shell and within the cabinet. Therefore it is of vital importance that the cabinet is not flooded with external water such as rain or run off water. The equipment includes computers and pumps.
A number of our customers wish to partly sink their exercise pool into the ground. This is acceptable provided the following items are considered:
The total depth to which the exercise pool is to be sunk should be discussed with Splash Spas to ensure installation can be achieved. In this case we would advise an overall depth (from concrete base pad to top of decking around the top rail of the spa) should be 45”. This would then allow for 5” of the top rail of the spa to be above the deck to take the insulated cover.
The base of the hole must be concrete and of a suitable thickness to take the weight of the exercise pool. We would normally recommend 6 inches of concrete with some reinforcing mesh
The earth must be retained by a suitable retaining wall (typically concrete blocks). The earth must not be allowed to contact the spa cabinet.
There must be sufficient space between the retaining wall and the cabinet of the spa to allow repairs. This should be discussed with Splash Spas as all the spas have different access requirements. An exercise pool require access at both ends and should led lights be installed the side panels would need to be accessible to replace lights. Please see following notes.
The concrete base should have at one end a small sump to collect water. There must be an automatic sump pump installed to remove this water from this sump. The hole it goes in need only be big enough for it to sit in & automatically start when the right amount of water fills it.
An exercise pool is made up with pumps etc at each end. These two ends are entirely separate from each other electrically. The total peak power requirement is 60 amps although I would point out that the spa is not running continuously at that power level.
Therefore a power supply capable of taking a peak load of 60 amps is required to be provided from the main domestic consumer unit to the site of the spa. A secondary consumer unit at the site of the spa should provide a power supply to each end of the spa. Each supply should be rated at 30 amps and should terminate with a socket. The Splash installation team will plug the spa into these sockets at delivery.
